Young eagle-no leg bands. This is a real beautiful animal. I haven't decided what sex it is just yet. Notice the brown fringe at the end of the tail feathers. I'm guessing it's about four years old. The eyes are a deep gold, signifying a mature bird. The plumage also shows an almost sexually mature animal. If you look closer you can notice the crop is full. A small ball shape bulging just below the white of the neck is evidence. It's where "extra" food is stored after a good meal. Later in the year, and later in this birds' life, eagles would feed chicks with the cached food.
